Another day, another hospital! Today Derek checks into Dameron for shoulder surgery scheduled around 2:00 pm. This is the hospital used by the orthopedic group, also with some sentimental value for us - the one where his sister, Jamie, was born. An overnight stay is expected.
After a shaky night on Monday, medications stabilized the brain-swelling situation within a few hours and then Derek had a good day on Tuesday. And so did we, despite the very little sleep we all had. Obviously, we are operating on God-strength at this time, thanks to your prayers!

Planning ahead for the required 8 hours of pre-surgery fasting, Derek picked up a Chipotle burrito bowl last night to enjoy this morning at 5 a.m. And that he did! This morning he will finish preparing lists for the Fantasy Football Draft that he will miss tonight - much to his huge disappointment. His team co-owner, Keith, will have to make the calls, but everyone knows who is the real "brains behind the outfit."

May all go PEFERCTLY today as God would want. I will be waiting to hear the fantastic outcome. Faith, Courage and Hope is all in your life. Derek get that arm healed for some REAL football throwing.
