Time Out

All was going along OK until last night when Derek had another episode of a cognitive lapse (best I can explain it). The doctor responded quickly to the page and it was remedied with a medication adjustment. Derek will see the doctor this morning before reporting to the chemo room as scheduled, and we hope to find out more.

As we're waiting, I'd like to share a poem from my grandpa's collection:

God Moves in a Mysterious Way
William Cowper (1731-1800)

God moves in a mysterious way
His wonders to perform
He plants His footsteps in the sea
And rides upon the storm.

Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take -
The clouds you so much dread
Are big with Mercy - and shall break
In blessings on your head.

His purposes will ripen fast,
Unfolding every hour;
The bud may have a bitter taste
But sweet will be the flower.

Blind unbelief is sure to err
And scan His work in vain.
God is His own interpreter,
And He will make it plain.

Update:

Derek had his chemo treatment as scheduled. Medications needed some adjustments.

Update: Derek had his chemo treatment as scheduled this morning. Some adjustments to medications were made, and now he is back home and beating me in backgammon as usual...between naps!

Oh yeah... love those naps!
Thanks for the updates and the encouraging words. Thanks for the poem: Grandpa Bennie's voice is still being heard.
Hope you're all indulging in plenty of rest when you need it!
