We're now five days past granddaughter's due-date, after an inducement on Tuesday didn't produce the expected results. Chris and Jamie were very disappointed, but chalked it down to a "trial run" and came back home to wait for baby to make the call. Keith and I have been enjoying a very restful and relaxing time here, lending a hand when we can, and catching up on hugs. We know God's timing is perfect, and so continue to anticipate with much joy the special birthday to come.
Meanwhile, a new tradition has been instituted as a remembrance of Derek - the Annual Petersen Family Backgammon Tournament. With Derek's love of games, it seemed appropriate. With our pre-Christmas free time, we held the event on Friday. Drawing for our semi-finals match-ups, Keith played Jamie, and I played Chris. The men prevailed, and so Keith played Chris for the Championship match. With his comfortable home table advantage, Chris swept the match to claim victory. Congratulations, Chris! The Deez Award Champion pendant is his to keep until next year's challenge.

As a light snow falls this afternoon, we continue the Waiting Game for Baby Stavenger.
