Just a quick post tonight - Derek had a restful day at home on Friday, after arriving at 11:00 pm Thursday night. At this point, the risk of infection is of main concern, now that infection-fighting white blood cells are depleted by the chemo. At 5:00 he had an injection of a WBC "booster" called neulasta, which will help to stimulate regeneration of the cells. Meanwhile, for about two weeks or so he will need to stay away from exposure to any illnesses. So, he will be staying in, and visiting will need to be minimal. We are stocked up with masks and Purell.
It's good to have him back home, and for the first time in a week, not making the drive to San Francisco! On to the next phase, and let's pray it continues to go well.

If Keith stops picking his nose and pharts outside, infections should not be a problem. ;-)
