Thirteen Days

I had thirteen days scheduled for November vacation with Jamie and family, and Keith had five, to welcome our grandson into the world and spend a few days helping out afterwards.  So much for the "best-laid plans:"  Our gamble on a before-due-date birth was wrong, Carter was 4 days overdue, Keith missed meeting Carter entirely, and I had to catch my return flight minutes after Jamie and 1-day-old Carter came home from the hospital on my Day 13!

However, the other side of being short-changed on Carter time was all of the Kendall time that we enjoyed while we were waiting.  That is always a welcome blessing for us!  The camera caught some of the many special moments during that time, but all of them were captured in our hearts!  And so, we were thankful for each day that we had there with our granddaughter and her mommy and daddy!

As promised (threatened) previously, here are some photo glimpses of those special times before Carter made his tardy Grand Entrance:
At Scheel's, Kendall feeling a bit too close to that big bear

Puppies at the mall, a much friendlier size!

An outing to Barnes and Noble

Such a helper - buttering the homemade rolls

Getting out for a walk to the nearby park

20 degrees and all bundled up

Kendall's favorite game- climbing on Grandpa Mountain!

Thanksgiving Day (due date):  Dinner on time, but not Carter!

Playing outside while Daddy and Grandpa put up Christmas lights

All finished decorating the Christmas tree!

Christmas decorating done, ready for Kendall's little brother to arrive!
Thank you, Kendall, for those extra-fun days, we loved them all!
