Today's appointment was something like the TV shows that end with those words popping up, indicating we have to wait until the next episode to see what happens. The doctor was glad to see Derek looking and feeling great, even having gained a couple of pounds, after the two 5-day rounds of high-dose chemotherapy. He had a good laugh when Derek, seemingly unaffected, joked, "So, is that all you've got?!"
The post-chemo scan/MRI reports were in, but not definitive enough in comparison to clearly indicate the next step. A scheduled monthly meeting of oncologists, a Sarcoma Board, will be taking place on Friday morning, during which Derek's case will be reviewed. Therefore, Dr. J suggested waiting until his next appointment on Friday afternoon to get their consensus of opinion regarding the next course of treatment.
So, sorry to leave this episode a cliff-hanger, but for now the waiting is "to be continued" for a few more days. Stay tuned....
