Bet you can't say it three times fast! It's a flower grown from bulbs, and every spring a 50-acre field of Tecolote Giant Ranunculus is on colorful display at the
Carlsbad Flower Fields in Southern California. Spread along a coastal hillside, it was a spectacular sight to see when Keith and I were vacationing in the area last week. My sister, Ruth, drove up from nearby San Diego to join me in strolling the grounds that included much more than ranunculus. Allergies had already kicked in after a couple days of golfing, so this was a bit of a personal sacrifice, but well worth the box of tissue that I went through later!
We clicked away, hoping for a picture that could capture the horizon-to-horizon spectacle, but decided it was impossible to do from ground level. So, with no aerial view available, the following were the best we could do. I hope you enjoy the virtual flower tour with us:

If you're in the area, go see it for yourself. But hurry, the flower fields close for the season on May 15th. Your next chance will be in April, 2012.

Amazing - and beautiful! Remember the Phoenix flower fields on Baseline road? Easter pics are also amazing and beautiful - as Kendall grows and enjoys all the festivities. Love you all !!
